Purpose:
The Career Studies Certificate in Electricity Fundamentals is an entry-level program of study for those just getting started with their working knowledge of electricity. Basic concepts of safety, testing, electricity, national electric code, and DC and AC fundamentals are covered. This program serves as an on-ramp to other, more comprehensive programs of study where working with electricity is a fundamental core requirement. This program also works as a stackable credential to other degree programs to add an in-demand additional skillset.
Occupational Objectives:
Entry-level employment related to electricity.
Admission Requirements:
Students must meet the general admission requirements established by the College.
Program Requirements:
Students will complete requirements to learn the fundamentals of working with electricity. The concepts covered in the classes include:
- Testing and Safety
- Fundamental principles and concepts of electricity
- National Electric Code related to Residential and Commercial Environments
- Fundamental concepts of DC and AC related concepts.
- Opportunity to earn NC3 Snap-On Digital Multimeter Certification, OSHA 10, and American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED credentials
Students completing the program will earn the Electricity Fundamentals Career Studies Certificate.
