Purpose:

The Career Studies Certificate in Applied Artificial Intelligence is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in the rapidly evolving field of AI. This program introduces learners to the core principles of digital literacy, computer applications, and artificial intelligence, while emphasizing ethical considerations and governance frameworks essential to responsible AI development and use.

As a stackable credential, this certificate can be integrated into a variety of associate degree pathways, enhancing students’ career readiness and academic progression in fields such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business, Advanced Manufacturing, Health Sciences and Information Technology. Students will complete a curriculum that includes Introduction to Microcomputers, Artificial Intelligence Awareness, Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals, Ethics and Governance in AI, and Applied Artificial Intelligence skills. This program prepares students for entry-level roles in AI-related fields or integration of AI into other fields or for further study in advanced technology programs.
