WEL 123: Shielding Metal Arc Welding: Basic

3 Credits

Lecture hours per week: 2
Laboratory hours per week: 3

Teaches operation of AC and DC power sources, welding polarities, heats and electrodes for use in joining various metal alloys by the arc welding process; Deals with running beads, butt, and fillet welds in all positions. Emphasizes safety procedures. An additional career and technical education course specific fee of $25.00 per credit hour applies to this course. The price is discounted 50% to $12.50 per credit hour for the 2026-27 academic year only.
