ELE 177: Photovoltaic Energy Systems

Lecture hours per week: 3
Laboratory hours per week: 3

Teaches techniques for conduct site surveys, installing system components, installing inverters and performing system sizing and system maintenance. Introduces different battery configurations, and charge controllers. Introduces safety, system design and layout, National Electric Code, Component Selection, wiring and installation techniques.  An additional career and technical education course specific fee of $25.00 per credit hour applies to this course. The price is discounted 50% to $12.50 per credit hour for the 2026-27 academic year only.
Total 6 hours per week.
